DCHA SGM Minutes 18/11/24
ATTENDANCE: MTrubshaw (Chair), RHart (Sec), DYule (Treasurer), GF (PP Co-ordinator), Representatives from HC&B, Stockton, Norton, SunderlandBroom, Richmond, South Shields, Marton Furness
AGENDA
a) approval of minutes from AGM held 13/12/23 pro RH sec DY CARRIED
d) approval of accounts from AGM 13/12/23 pro RH sec MT CARRIED
e) appointment of an Independent Examiner of accounts – David Firth pro LBrown MFHC, sec MT CARRIED
f) election of officers (there being no other nominations, those in post were re-elected) n/a
g) determination of subscription fees and entry fees for the following season. Discussion:
1. Player Pathway: DY outlined the importance/success of the Player/Talent Pathway. GF stressed the need to widen participation from schools/clubs throughout the County and that clubs/schools need to play their part in this, becoming more proactive. It was noted that schools were producing fewer players and that the majority of the best players came from Yarm School.
2. County initiatives: Noted poor response to Club Questionnaire asking clubs what they wanted; County had begun to explore a Young Umpires Initiative and had held successful Cup and Vase Tournaments 7/8th Sept 2024 at Maiden Castle – well attended. GF suggested that there was a need to widen this to Indoors, U18s, U21s and increase club participation.
Proposal from Committee that “Affiliation Fees” should remain at the present level of £50 per team” sec GYoung, Richmond CARRIED.
